George T. O’Rourke

Mr. George T. O’Rourke Sr. of Waltham died Wednesday September 15, 2004 in the Veterans Administration Hospital, West Roxbury. He was 75.
Born in Cambridge, a son of the late John and Claire (West) O’Rourke , he was a custodian for many years for Carter’s in Waltham. He was a resident of Waltham for over forty years and had been a member of V.F.W. Post #2152 in Waltham. He was also a World War II veteran, serving in the U.S. Coast Guard.
He was the husband of the late Mary (McClafferty) O’Rourke.
He is survived by his children, George O’Rourke, Jr. of Calais, ME, Janet Dworkin of Marlboro, Elaine O’Rourke and James O’Rourke, both of Waltham; one brother, John O’Rourke of South Yarmouth, and three grandchildren.
The Funeral will be held Friday September 24th, at 9 a.m. from The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte.20), Waltham followed by a Funeral Mass in Saint Mary’s Church, 133 School Street, Waltham at 10 a.m. Burial will be private.
Visiting hours are Thursday from 5 to 8 p.m.
