Waltham – Mr. George J. Shutt, of Waltham, died Wednesday, January 1, 2020 in Newton-Wellesley Hospital. He was 77.
George was born on July 22, 1942 in Boston a son of the late George L. and Marion (McGregor) Shutt. He graduated from Saint Patrick High School and Burdett College in Boston. He was a Watertown fireman for twelve years and then ventured into business for himself in construction. He had a real passion for sports teams that made him be viewed a traitor but he stood his ground in any sports discussion. He stayed active fishing, golfing, and enjoying a cold Miller High Life with friends.
He leaves his sons, Paul M. Shutt of Waltham and Michael J. Shutt (Michelle) of Hudson; his three grandchildren, McKayla, Riley and Nathan; his siblings, Mary Smith of Forestburg, Texas, Virginia Bryant (Stephen) of Brewster, Paul Shutt of Watertown; his step-children, Danielle Ramsey of Wareham and Michelle MacLean of Stoneham and nieces and nephews.
