Geraldine J. DiLorenzo

Waltham - Mrs. Geraldine J. (Monks) DiLorenzo, of Waltham, died Saturday, October 13, 2007. She was 83. Born in Cambridge, a daughter of the late Harry and Rose (Murphy) Monks, she was a secretary for thirty-five years at Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary in Boston. Geraldine was also very active at Our Lady Comforter of the Afflicted Church as well as a former CCD teacher, Boy Scout Den Mother and a Girl Scout Leader. She was the wife of the late Ernest DiLorenzo. Geraldine leaves her children, Michael E. DiLorenzo of Waltham, Mark M. DiLorenzo of Waltham, Susan R. DiLorenzo of Italy, and Joyce T. McCloud of Medford; three sisters, Anna Mae Vannasse, Shirley Newfell and Katherine Trudeau, all of Waltham; one brother, Harry Monks, Jr. of Kingston; seven grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. The Funeral will be held on Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. from the Joyce Funeral Home 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham followed by a Funeral Mass in Our Lady Comforter of the Afflicted Church, 880 Trapelo Road, Waltham at 10:30 a.m. Burial will be in Mount Feake Cemetery, Waltham. Visiting hours will be held Tuesday from 4 to 8 p.m. Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 311 Arsenal Street, Watertown, MA 02472.
