Mrs. Geraldine M. (Quinlan) McCarthy of Framingham, formerly of Waltham, died Wednesday, February 18, 2015 in the Countryside Nursing Home in Framingham. She was 94. Mrs. McCarthy was born in Watertown on April 4, 1920, a daughter of the late Francis and Kathleen (Manley) Quinlan.
Geraldine was raised in Waltham and was a graduate of Waltham High School. She was a secretary for the Waters Associates of Sudbury until her retirement.
Geraldine was the wife of the late Alan O. McCarthy. She is survived by her children, Alan G. McCarthy of Montpelier VT, Paula Keeler Guerin and her husband, Robert, of Clinton, and Joanne Magill and her husband, David, of Lakewood, CA; her grandchildren, Keith Keeler, Lisa Parish, Kelly Walter, Michael McCarthy, Rachel and Sarah Magill; and her great grandchildren, Paul Keeler, Ethan and Isabel Parish and Amelia Walter.
Geraldine was the niece of the late Rev. John Quinlan.
She also leaves her extended family at Countryside Nursing Home in Framingham. Her family extends their great appreciation and affection to the Countryside staff for the love, wonderful care, and concern they had for Geraldine during her stay with them.
Family and friends will honor and remember Geraldine's life by gathering to visit at 9 a.m. on Monday morning, February 23rd in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham before leaving in procession to the Blessed Sacrament Chapel at Saint Charles Borromeo Church, 51 Hall Street, Waltham where her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in Mount Feake Cemetery, Waltham.
