Waltham - Mrs. Gertrude M. (Curtin) Maniace, of Waltham, died Saturday, March 1, 2008 at Brigham and Women's Hospital, Boston. She was 84. Born in Waltham, a daughter of the late Joseph F. and Mary F. (Tierney) Curtin, Sr., Gertrude had been a lifelong resident. She was a graduate of Saint Charles High School in Waltham. She had long been active with, and a past president of, Saint Mary's Mother's Club in Waltham and had also been a member of the Christian Brothers Guild. Gertrude leaves her husband of 63 years, Henry R. Maniace; her children, H. Richard Maniace of Boston, Deborah Ann Ireland of Concord and Patricia A. Griffin of South Kingstown, Rhode Island; her granddaughter Brenna Ireland and many nieces and nephews. She was also the sister of the late Joseph F. Curtin, Jr. and Robert E. Curtin. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday from The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham followed by a Funeral Mass in Our Lady Comforter of the Afflicted Church, 880 Trapelo Road, Waltham at 10:30 a.m. Burial will be in Mount Feake Cemetery, Waltham.
