Watertown - Miss Gertrude K. Parsons of Watertown died Friday, March 26, 2004 at Mount Auburn Hospital in Cambridge after a courageous battle with cancer. She was 93. Gertrude was an honors graduate of Emmanuel College, with a masters degree from Boston University. She was a former language teacher at Cambridge High and Latin and supervisor and innovator of the French program in the elementary schools in Cambridge. She was also a former president of Kappa Gamma Pi Honor Society and the Cambridge Teachers Club. A daughter of the late John R. and Isabelle M. (Prowse) Parsons she leaves her brother and sisters, Claude J. Parsons of Watertown, Dorothy M. Wimberly and her husband Floyd T. of Bradenton, FL and Yarmouthport and Marjorie L. Parsons of Watertown; her sisters-in-law, Rita Parsons of Brighton and Madeline Parsons of Natick and many nieces, nephews, grand and great-grand nieces and nephews. She was also a sister of the late Robert and John Parsons, Isabelle Gustie, Clifton A. Parsons and Sister Isabel Mary Parsons, SND. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral at 8 a.m. Monday from The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham followed by a Funeral Mass in Saint Lukes Church, 132 Lexington Street, Belmont at 9 a.m. Burial will be in Mount Auburn Cemetery, Cambridge.
