Gina A. (Ferraro) Sorrentino

August 3, 1956 — April 9, 2025

Waltham

Gina A. Sorrentino of Waltham passed away peacefully on April 9, 2025, with her husband and children by her side. She was 68.

Born in Lynn on August 3, 1956, Gina was the daughter of the late Vincent and Mary (Tretola) Ferraro. She was raised in Lynn and graduated from Lynn English High School.

Gina met the love of her life, Michael Sorrentino, on May 18, 1979, and exactly one year later, they were engaged. Gina and Michael exchanged vows on October 18, 1981, starting the happiest chapter of their lives together. They started their family while living in Everett and a few years later moved to Lynn. In 1987, they moved to the Warrendale neighborhood of Waltham, calling it home ever since.

Gina worked at BayBank then ADP, for a number of years. However, the job that gave her the most fulfillment and joy was that of a Mother. She was a devoted wife and an amazing mother. She was also a skilled baker and a great cook, always looking forward to hosting family gatherings during the holidays and when the grandchildren came along, nothing made her happier than getting the entire family together. Mike and Gina also made many happy memories traveling to their favorite spot in Aruba and she loved summer vacations with the whole family down the Cape. She also enjoyed trips to Foxwoods, and the Encore Casino with her son, Michael.

The ultimate caretaker, Gina, will be remembered for the unwavering love, compassion, and guidance she gave to her husband, four children, and nine grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, Michael Sorrentino, Gina leaves her children, Maria Lancaster (Daniel) of Peabody, Michelle Graceffa (Christopher) of Chicago, Illinois, Michael Sorrentino (Amanda) of Woburn, and Brianna Fanning (Patrick) of Stoughton; her grandchildren, Danny, Lia, Jack, Benny, Elle, Michael, Adelina, Joseph, and Owen; her siblings, Diana Mancinelli (Mike) of Atkinson, New Hampshire, and Michael Ferraro (Kim) of Lynn, and her aunt Bella Durbano (Anthony) of Saugus. She was also survived by many nieces, nephews and dear friends.

In addition to her parents, the late Vincent and Mary, Gina was also predeceased by her brother, the late John Ferraro.

Family and friends will honor and remember Gina’s life by gathering for an Evening Wake on Monday, April 14th, from 4 to 8 p.m. in the Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham and again at 9 a.m. on Tuesday morning before leaving in procession to Saint Jude Church, 147 Main St., Waltham where her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett.
