Gloria S. Almeida

Waltham - Mrs. Gloria S. (Beninati) Almeida, of Waltham, died Thursday, July 8, 2010 at Newton-Wellesley Hospital. She was 75.

Gloria was born in Waltham on February 11, 1935, a daughter of the late Angelo and Genevieve (Vasquezi) Beninati, she was a lifelong resident of Waltham and was a homemaker.

Gloria leaves her husband, John J. Almeida, two daughters, Cheryl Ann Gonsalves and her husband Jim of Nashua, New Hampshire and Theresa M. Almeida of Waltham; two sisters, Theresa Vasseur of Cambridge and Patricia Ansara of California; her grandchildren, Joshua, Jonathan, Kevin and Kymberly and many nieces and nephews.

She was also the sister of the late Francis and Alfred Beninati.

Family and friends will honor and remember Gloria’s life by gathering for calling hours in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte.20), Waltham on Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m. and again at 9 a.m. on Monday morning before leaving in procession to Saint Mary’s Church, 133 School Street, Waltham where her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Waltham.
