Gordon LeBlanc always remained mindful of his humble beginnings in both Canada and here in the United States. Hard work, determination and living simply were qualities that later enabled him to enjoy the fruits and sacrifices of his labors. Gordon was a man of few words but his friendship and loyalty had a deep impact.
Gordon immigrated to the United States in 1962 from Canada. He was born October 2, 1942 in Memramcook, New Brunswick, Canada a son of the late Willie and Margaret (LeBlanc) LeBlanc. He married Edna M. Girouard on August 30, 1969 in St. Joseph's Church in Waltham. Edna died unexpectedly in 1974 while pregnant with a baby boy. She was 30 years old.
Gordon died on Saturday, October 12, 2019 at home. He was 77.
Gordon worked various jobs as a young man in the U.S. He drove a taxi cab, worked as a gas station attendant and was a construction laborer for Local #274 Laborers Union. Through his hard work, he and Edna were able to save and purchase their first home in Waltham in 1974. Gordon's passion for the real estate business grew from here.
Gordon loved the outdoors and the many activities he enjoyed included fishing, hunting and golfing. His home in Brant Rock, Marshfield afforded him times with family to go clamming in Duxbury and enjoy all the foods he loved that come from the sea. An ice cream with his granddaughter Jocelyn was the perfect end to a great day nearby the ocean. His love for Jocelyn was boundless. As a snowbird he enjoyed winters at his home in Boca Raton, Florida where he enjoyed many fishing trips and a special community of friends at Boca Mar. He loved planting and harvesting his garden with Jocelyn, was an avid baseball fan, and loved telling old-time hockey stories with his son-in-law Jim. He possessed a wonderfully dry sense of humor, loved a good practical joke, and had a deep, joyful laugh that was infectious.
Acadian to his core he looked forward to trips home to his native soil of New Brunswick where he would enjoy Poutine, rapee and other traditional dishes. While at home he'll be remembered by his signature recipe of chicken Fricot.
In heaven Gordon joins his wife, Edna and their unborn son.

Bellanca who adoringly loved her Pepere; his siblings, Ernest LeBlanc of Waltham and Jackie Gould (late Daniel) of Waltham; in-laws Anna Goguen (J.P.) of Moncton, N.B., Canada, Aline Dallaire (Roger) of Waltham, Paul and Leo Girouard of Cocagne, N.B., Canada, Fernande Maillet (Yvon) of Bouctouche, N.B., Canada, Guy Girouard (Simone) of Burlington, Alfred Girouard (Chong) of Florida; many nieces & nephews.
