Grace B. Curtis-Shea, of Waltham, died Monday, July 15, 2024 at Belmont Manor. She was 82.
Grace was born in Norwood on December 5, 1941, a daughter of the late George Curtis and Virginia (Pond) Curtis Rogers. She lived for most of her life in Waltham and worked for years as a nurse and later, in the billing department, at the former Waltham Hospital.
She was a lifetime member of First Parish in Waltham and was a faithful volunteer with the parish clothing exchange. Grace loved to travel with family and friends and often visited with her sister in California.
Grace will long be remembered for her kind heart and generosity to those in need. A favorite endeavor of hers was to shop for clothing and toys for needy children and their families and caring for animals of all kinds in her neighborhood.
She leaves her sister, Georgette Piver, of California; her nephew Jeffrey Wallen; her grandnieces and nephews, Savana Wallen, Stephanie Wallen, Carl Wallen; her great-grandnieces, Brielle, Kenzie, Zoey and Alice Wallen; her Hayes and Johnson cousins, and James and Margo O’Malley and their children, Evan and Ethan.
Her twin sister, Gail Alford, died in 2018.
Family and friends will honor and remember Grace’s life by gathering to visit at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday morning, July 23rd in the chapel of First Parish Church, 50 Church Street, Waltham where her LIfe Celebration will be held at 11 a.m. Burial in Rural Cemetery, Walpole will be at a later date.
