Waltham - Mr. Harold F. 'Shorty' Cotterly of Waltham died Sunday August 1, 2004 in his home. He was 80. Born in Jamaica Plain, a son of the late Harold and Edith (Puddister) Cotterly, he was a plumber and gas fitter for Ferris and Mahoney of Roslindale for many years. He was a member of V.F.W. Post #2152 in Waltham and the Plumbers and Gas Fitters Union, Local #12. During World War II he served with the U.S. Army. He was the brother of the late Herbert, George, and Donald Cotterly. He is survived by his wife Mary N. (Sarney), his children Harold F. 'Butch' Cotterly, Jr. of New Ipswich, NH, Nancy M. Fraser of Woburn, Kevin P. Cotterly of Concord, NH, and Brian Scott Cotterly of Shrewsbury; one brother, Walter Cotterly of Middleboro; one sister, Dorothy McGann of Tyngsboro, 7 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, one niece and one nephew. The Funeral will be held at 9 a.m. Friday from The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte.20), Waltham followed by a Funeral Mass in the Blessed Sacrament Chapel of Saint Charles Borromeo Church, 51 Hall Street Waltham at 10 a.m. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Waltham. Visiting hours are Thursday 4 to 8 p.m.
