Mr. Harold A. 'Hal' Stedman, of Waltham, died Wednesday, August 24, 2017 in the Sawtelle House in Reading. He was 91.
Born on August 21, 1926 a son of the late John H. and Gladys A. (Dolham) Stedman he was raised and educated in Waltham. He honorably served his country during World War II in the United States Navy and was part of the D-Day invasion at Normandy.
Hal worked at Raytheon Corporation for many years and lately with where he worked at Yankee Atomic Electric Company of Bolton for over three years.
He was a longtime volunteer at the Lahey Clinic in Burlington. He was honored with Volunteer of the Year as he helped at the hospital for over 15 years. His interests included building model ships, assembling puzzles, model trains and traveling extensively with his wife.
His wife, Jeanne L. (Sevigny) Stedman died May 30, 1994 and he is predeceased by their son, Harold A. 'Skip' Stedman Jr.
He leaves his daughters, Valerie Fillio and her husband, Roger, of Londonderry, New Hampshire, Patricia S. Aubie and her husband, Terrence, of Leominster; his grandchildren, Vanessa Williams and her husband, Derek, of Clearwater, Florida, Rachel Castillo and her husband, Aaron, of Nashua, New Hampshire, Terrence M. Aubie and his wife, Ann, of Manchester, Derek Aubue of Hubbardston and Cassandra Angsley and her husband, Brady, of Spring City, Tennessee; his great-grandchildren, Alanna, Brennan, Julia, Jacob, Jared, Anastasia, Olivia, Brady Jr. and Damian; his brother, John A. Stedman of Florida; nieces & nephews.
Family and friends will honor and remember Harold's life by gathering for calling hours in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham on Sunday, August 27th from 4 to 7 p.m. Funeral services will be private.
Memorials in his name may be made to a charity of one's choice.
