Harry G. Burns of Brockton died Sunday, November 6, 2011, in his home. He was 88. Mr. Burns was born in West Newton on October 12, 1923, a son of the late Philip L. and Frances W. (Hicks) Burns. He had lived in Waltham and West Newton before moving to Brockton.
Harry was a machinist with the W.H. Nichols Company in Waltham until his retirement several years ago. He was a World War Two veteran who served in the U.S. Army.
Harry was the husband of the late Lorraine J. (Murphy) Burns, the grandfather of the late Harry G. Burns III, and the brother of the late William Burns, Dorothy Chiasson, and Paul Burns.
He is survived by his son, Harry G. Burns, Jr. of Brockton; his grandson, Daniel Burns and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be private.
