Newton Mr. Hazen M. Ackles of Waltham, Formerly of Weston, died Saturday, February 28, 2004 at Newton-Wellesley Hospital. He was 83. Born in Parsboro, Nova Scotia, Mr. Ackles lived for many years in Weston and in Waltham. He was the late owner and President of Ackles Steel Company of Waltham. He was a member of the Waltham Rotary Club and the Waltham Jaycees. During World War II he served with the U.S. Navy. He attended Brigham Young University and he was an avid Red Sox and Patriots fan and enjoyed traveling. Mr. Ackles was the husband of the late Constance A. (Phillips) Ackles and leaves his children, Jane A. Moretti of Wrentham, William P. Ackles of Concord, Richard H. Ackles of Salem, NH and Susan C. Alimi of Fryeburg, ME; one brother, William H. Ackles of Belmont; 12 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews and a dear companion, Susan Carter of Waltham. He was also a brother of the late Clayton Ackles, Muriel Wolcott and Irene Young. The Funeral will be held at 9 a.m. Wednesday from The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham followed by a Funeral Service in the First Baptist Church, 400 Lexington Street, Waltham at 10 a.m..
