Mrs. Heather (Winchester) Tyler, of Sudbury died Monday, August 28, 2023 in Westford House after a period of failing health. She was 79.
Heather was born May 31, 1944 in Waltham, a daughter of the late John and Margaret (Smith) Winchester. Raised and educated in Waltham she graduated from Waltham High School with the class of 1962 and then earned her certificate to become a nurse’s aide. While working at Newton-Wellesley Hospital she met her soulmate Clayton L. Tyler and they married in 1965. They shared 49 years together before Clay’s passing on November 25, 2014.
After working at Newton-Wellesley she stayed at home to raise her family.
Heather’s best memories were at her lifelong second home in South Casco, Maine at ‘The Pines,’ where summers were spent. Her commitment to family was unwavering, and she cherished each moment spent with her loved ones. Heather enjoyed watching the Patriots, a good Margarita, and the holiday seasons.
In addition to her husband, Clay she was predeceased by her sisters, Marjorie Higgins and Barbara Jennett.
She leaves her son, Scott Tyler and his wife, Sandy, of Sudbury; stepchildren, Mark Tyler and his wife, Anna, of Machias, Maine, Clayton Tyler Jr. and his wife, Gina, of Greensboro, Alabama and Mary Tyler of Arkansas; three grandchildren including Michael, Angela, and Cassandra Tyler; nieces & nephews.
Funeral services will be private.
