Helen Ruth (Hathaway) Brown

Waltham – Mrs. Helen Ruth (Hathaway) Brown died peacefully at home on Thursday, October 12, 2018. She was 102. She was the beloved wife of the late Wallace Harlin Brown of Waltham. They had been married 66 years before his death in 2005.

Helen was born November 29, 1915 in Saugus daughter of the late Benjamin and Lilly Hathaway. She graduated from Saugus High School in 1934.

She and her husband were active members of the Church of the Open Bible in Burlington for over 55 years and served in many ministries.

Helen had a gift of hospitality and was known for her delicious meals, beautiful table settings and entertaining skills. She was asked to speak at many women's meetings at church on the subject of hospitality. Helen had a deep faith in God and read the Bible and prayed daily. She was a Sunday school teacher for over 35 years and hosted many Bible clubs in her home, inviting all the neighborhood children.

She leaves behind her loving daughter, Bonnie (Brown) Shukri and her husband, Samuel of Burlington; her cherished granddaughter, Laurie Beth (Shukri) Trocki and her husband, Justin, her precious great-grandchildren, Kaylen and Benjamin Trocki and many nieces & nephews.

A Memorial Service will be held at 7 p.m. on Friday, October 19th in Salem Bible Church, 11 Ermer Road, Salem, New Hampshire 03079. Burial is private.
