Danvers – Mrs. Helen G. (Kindgregan) Amero Connelly, of Danvers, died Friday, May 15, 2009 at Beverly Hospital. She was 91. Helen was born in Waltham on May 28, 1917 and was a daughter of the late Michael and Catherine (Eagle) Kindgregan. She had lived in Waltham before moving to Sudbury in 1958 and then to Wayland three years later. She had been a resident of Danvers since 2005. Until her retirement she had worked as an executive assistant for Digital Equipment Corportation. Helen graduated from Saint Mary's High School in Waltham and received a degree from Burdett Business School in Boston. An avid golfer, she belonged to Maynard Country Club for many years and had also been a member of St. Ann's Bowling League in Wayland. She was a talented seamstress and had unique skills creating embroidered and needlepoint designs. Helen was the wife of the late James E. Amero and the late Stephen Connelly and leaves her children, Virginia A. Wineinger and her husband, Gene, of Stone Mountain, Georgia, James M. Amero and his wife, Nancy, of Milford, Robert S. Amero and his wife, Susan, of Townsend and Marjorie E. Robb and her husband, Richard, of Marblehead; her grandchildren, Brian, Christopher and Kevin Wineinger, Matthew, Justin, Elizabeth, Jennifer, Kimberly and Deborah Amero and Mackenzie, Hayley and Carly Robb; her great-grandchildren, Crystal, Samantha, Allison, Michael, Joshua, Katelyn, Hannah and Ethan and several nieces and nephews. She was also the sister of the late Mary C. Harris. Family and friends will honor and remember Helen's life by gathering for calling hours in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham on Thursday from 5 to 8 p.m. and again at 9 a.m. on Friday morning before leaving in procession to Saint Mary's Church, 133 School Street, Waltham where her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in Brookside Cemetery, Stow.
