Huaqing Su passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 1, 2022 after battling pancreatic cancer. She was 80 years old.
Huaqing was born on September 11, 1941 in Tianjin, China a daughter of the late Shuangan Su and Minzhu Chen. She attended University of Chinese Academy and Sciences in Beijing where she received her bachelor's degree in Chemistry.
She also met the love of her life Jinfu Zhao in the same university. They both were classmates, colleagues and were married in 1968. They raised their daughter Xiaomin Zhao in Tianjin, China.
She and her husband, Jinfu Zhao immigrated to the United States in 2015 settling in the City of Newton. Huaqing was social and optimistic and loved to cook. She was very knowledgeable in medicine even though she was not a doctor.
She was deeply loved and will be very much missed.
In addition to her husband, Jinfu Zhao she leaves her daughter, Xiaomin Zhao and her husband, Fangjun Ding; her grandchild, Matthew Ding.
Family will honor and remember Huaqing's life by gathering for calling hours in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street, Waltham on Tuesday, September 6th from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Waltham.
