Waltham - Mr. Hy H. Chang, of Waltham, died Friday, January 31, 2014 in Epoch of Weston. He was 92.
Hy was born in Vietnam on November 27, 1921, a son of the late Cong Van Chang and Che Dai Chan. During the unrest of the Vietnam War the Chang family moved to China before they were able to immigrate to the United States in 1980. Hy had met Deng K. Ly in Vietnam and the pair were married in 1946. They spent over sixty-seven happy years together. Hy was very hard working and was proud to be able to provide for his large family.
Besides his beloved wife, Denh Ly Chang he is survived by his children, Khoan Chang and his wife, Wendy, of Newton, Ben Chang and his wife, Mui, of Waltham, Hoan Chang and his wife, Cindy, of Waltham, Van Chang and his wife, Carina, of Waltham, Andy Chang and his wife, Patty, of California, Dau Vah Ngan and her husband, Lap Soi, of Waltham, Denh Lam and her husband, Seng, of Waltham and Kin Tang and her husband , James, of Waltham; his grandchildren, Derek Chang and his wife, Eunjung, Stacie Hart and her husband, Leo, Myin Chang, Tony Chang, Hieng Tse and her husband, Kai, Lisa Miller and her husband, David, Anna Chang, Ricky Chang, Stephen Chang and his wife, Jenny, Harvey Chang, Wendy Chang, Stephanie Chang, Darien Chang, Ryan Chang, Fiona Chang, Davy Ngan and his wife, Suki, Lau Hua and her husband, Shan, Mephon Neuman and her husband, David, Keith Ngan, Danny Lam, Kym Lum and her husband, Jason, John Lam and wife, Fanny, Peter Lam and his wife, Michelle, Harry Tang, Eric Tang and Anthony Tang and is also survived by twenty-two great grandchildren.
Family and friends will honor and remember Hy's life by gathering for calling hours in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham on Sunday, February 9th from 2 to 5 p.m. and again at 8 a.m. on Monday morning before leaving in procession at 10 a.m. to Mt. Feake Cemetery, 203 Prospect St., Waltham.
