Mr. Hyungsang Kim, of Waltham, died peacefully on December 29, 2019, at his home. He was 92.
Mr. Kim was born January 2, 1927 in Jeongju City, South Korea a son of the late Hak Sul and Hak Soon (Kim) Kim. Before he moved to Boston, he worked and operated a timber service company near his hometown.
After he moved to America, he enjoyed gardening and sharing vegetables with his children. He loved to study history and politics and play Chinese Go with his children. He had a strong desire to know American culture. Hence, he devoted his time to learn English by memorizing English vocabulary and reading newspapers with a dictionary.
He is survived by his wife, Keum Soon; his six children, Ok Rye Kim, Shichul Kim, Okcha Choi, Minchull Kim, Okjin Kim, Bubchul Kim; 19 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren throughout America and Korea.
Family will honor and remember Hyungsang's life by gathering privately in Mount Feake Cemetery, Waltham for his graveside service. There are no calling hours.
