Miss Ida E. Ciarletta of Watertown died Saturday, December 1, 2007 in the Mount Auburn Hospital. She was 87. Born in Waltham and graduated from Waltham High School. She was the secretary to the President of the Waltham Federal Savings Bank for forty eight years. After that she was the secretary to the Board of Directors for the The Federal Savings Bank until her retirement in 1985. Miss Ciarletta volunteered at The Waltham Hospital for many years and was a former parishioner of Saint Jude Church in Waltham.
Miss Ciarletta was the daughter of the late Ilario and Cesidia (Gavita ) Ciarletta and the sister of the late Pasqualina Natoli, Adeline Scafidi, Ernest Ciarletta, and Delfina “Helen” Fahey.
She is survived by her sister, Rose M. Howe of South Yarmouth; her brother, Henry J. Ciarletta of Watertown; and many nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Thursday at 8 am from The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street, (Rte. 20), Waltham followed by a Funeral Mass in Saint Luke’s Church, 132 Lexington Street, Belmont, at 9 am. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Waltham. Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday 2-4 and 7-9 pm.
