Ida (Senarian) Fahey

Newton – Mrs. Ida (Senarian) Fahey died at home on Saturday, November 16, 2024. She was 98.

Ida was born on October 20, 1926 in Newton a daughter of Armenian immigrants Charles and Varsenig (Zahigian) Senarian. Raised in Newton she graduated from Newton High School. She married Edward J. Fahey on July 14, 1971 in Saint Stephen’s Armenian Church in Watertown and later professed their marriage vows at St. Mary’s Church in Waltham. Longtime Waltham residents, they made Newton their home in 1987 where she was a member of Mary Immaculate of Lourdes Parish. Married for 49 years, Eddie died April 5, 2021. Ida worked as a storekeeper at Raytheon Corporation for over 38 years, retiring in 1988. She was a member of the Local 1505 Raytheon Workers Union. 

She enjoyed friendships from membership of the Newton Upper Falls Senior Group and the Newton Upper Falls Women’s Group. Ida and Eddie enjoyed dancing, bowling and countless day trips to various destinations.

In addition to her beloved husband, Eddie, she was predeceased by siblings, Senar Senarian (late Elizabeth) Allen Senarian (late Ann), Annie Senarian – Gray (late Peter) and niece, Deborah Sullivan; nephew Gary Senarian (late Patricia).

She leaves nieces & nephews including Greg Sullivan, Karen & Edward Bianchi, Charles & Tara Senarian; great-uncle of Stacy Motyka (Joseph), Jason Sullivan (Heidi), Katlyn Cassie (Victor), Jeffrey Senarian (Monique), David Senarian (Emily) & Michael Senarian (Jackie), Paul Bianchi (Nicole), Kseniya Senarian; also survived by many great-grandnieces & nephews, cousins & friends and her caretaker, Debra Burque. 

Family and friends will honor and remember Ida’s life by gathering for a morning wake in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham on Monday, November 25th from 10 to 11 a.m. followed by her service at 11 a.m. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Waltham.
