Waltham – Mr. Inderjit Rikhi, of Waltham, died Saturday, June 4, 2011 at his home following a courageous battle with Lou Gehrig’s Disease. He was 62.
Inderjit was born in India on March 1, 1949, a son of Kailash (Wanti) Rikhi of Dedham and the late Mulkhraj Rikhi. He was raised and educated in India and until his retirement worked there as an agricultural commission agent. He earned a masters degree in English literature from the University of Ghaziabad.
In addition to his mother, he leaves his wife, Kavita (Mohan) Rikhi; his children, Ashima Mannan, Karishma Mannan and Paras Rikhi, all of Waltham; his grandchildren, Kareena, Celina and Priyanka Mannan; his brothers, Narinder Kumar, Surinder Kumar, Ramlubhaya Rikhi, Pardeep Rikhi and Rajinder Kumar and many nieces and nephews.
Inderjit was also a brother of the late Jagdish Rikhi.
Family and friends will honor and remember Inderjit’s life by gathering to visit in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham on Tuesday, June 7th, at 9:30 a.m. before leaving in procession at 10:30 a.m. for Newton Cemetery Chapel, 791 Walnut Street, Newton where his funeral service will be held at 11 a.m.
