Indu Bahl

Waltham – Mrs. Indu "Moti" Bahl, of Waltham, died at home on Sunday, April 19, 2020. She was 77.

Indu was born in Calcutta, India on September 15, 1943 to the late Dr. Teerthram and Leelavati (Khanna) Mehra. She was raised in Amritsar, India and moved to the United States 5 years ago spending time with daughter and family in New York City and her son and family in Waltham, Massachusetts.

She married Sudhir Kumar Bahl Indu in 1963 and the couple spent many happy years before his death seven years ago. Indu loved knitting and taking care of her loved ones. She was an avid reader. She loved spending time with her extended family, including many cousins and friends. She looked forward to her monthly "kitty parties" with joy. Throughout her life she enjoyed traveling to different places with her husband to Europe and also with her daughter's family throughout the United States to places like, Niagara Falls, Las Vegas and California. In recent years she enjoyed her time in the White Mountains of New Hampshire, which reminded her of her family home in the Himalayan Mountains in Dalhousie, India. She was blessed with many friends and family not only in India but also in the New York, New Jersey and Boston areas.

Indu is predeceased by her husband, Sudhir, her brothers, Shadilal Mehra and her sisters, Shakuntala Kumar, Sudha Jaggi, and Tripta Kapoor. She leaves her brother Sudhir Mehra, her children Vivek Bahl, Varuna Kapoor and her husband Nipun of NYC, Gaurav Bahl and his wife Stephanie of Waltham and her grandchildren, Saubhav Kapoor, Mayank Kapoor, Miyana Bahl, Kamran Bahl, Aiswarya Bahl and Ketaki Bahl.
