Irene P. Gallo Murphy, formerly of Watertown, died Wednesday, December 25, 2019 in Elliot Nursing & Rehabilitation Care Center after a long battle with Alzheimer's disease. She was 77.
Irene was born April 29, 1942 in Boston a daughter of the late Phillip J. and Lena A. (Gentile) Gallo. She was a graduate of Our Lady Help of Christians High School. Irene was raised in the Nonantum section of Newton and married Timothy M. Murphy on October 7, 1978 in Our Lady Help of Christians Church and they were Watertown residents before moving to Kentucky in October.
Irene worked as a products manager for T.R.W. (Thompson Raymond Woldrich Co.) for many years before retiring in 1992.
She enjoyed travelling, spending time with family and friends and excursions to shop.
In addition to her husband, Timothy she leaves nephews, Todd Harrington of Seattle, Washington, Greg Harrington of Reinholds, Pennsylvania and Keith Harrington of Kirkland, Washington; her aunt, Christine Gentile of Newton; her godchild, Addison Rodomista of New York City; and many close friends. She was a sister of the late Loretta Gallo.
Funeral services were private.
