Waltham Mrs. Irene M. (Sullivan) Gilmore, of Waltham, died Friday December 11, 2009 at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston. She was 86. Irene was born in St. Stephen, New Brunswick, on December 31, 1922, a daughter of the late George H. and Frances Theresa (Enright) Sullivan. She had lived in Waltham for the past fifty-five years and was a 1941 graduate of Saint Charles High School in Waltham. For the past fifteen years she had been working as a school bus monitor for Eastern School Bus Company in Waltham. In her spare time Irene enjoyed playing cribbage, cards and always enjoyed driving to Canada to visit with family and friends. The wife of the late Frank E. Gilmore, she leaves her daughter, Judith Ann Dupille and her husband, Leonard, of Waltham; her son-in-law, James Gangi of Waltham; her sister, Sally M. Sweeney of Port Charlotte, Florida; her grandchildren, Leonard Dupille, Wendy Hankins, Sherri Hanlon, Jimmy Gangi, Jimmy Dupille, Shannon Crowley, Jodi Gangi, fourteen great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Irene was also the mother of the late Sally Gangi and a sister of the late George H. Sy Sulivan, Jr., Doris M. Davis, Murray L. Sullivan and Edward Sullivan. Family and friends will honor and remember Irenes life by gathering for calling in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte.20), Waltham on Sunday from 4 to 7 p.m. and again at 10 a.m. on Monday before leaving in procession to the Blessed Sacrament Chapel of Saint Charles Borromeo Church, 51 Hall Street, Waltham where her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Waltham.
