Waltham – Mrs. Irene F. (Hardiman) Hallaran, of Waltham, died Thursday, August 9, 2012 at the Leland Home in Waltham. She was 99.
Irene was born in Boston on June 22, 1913, a daughter of the late John and Margaret (Kane) Hardiman, both natives of Ireland. She was a lifelong resident of Waltham and a graduate of Saint Mary's High School.
After that she went to secretarial school and worked for a number of years for Walter Abbott at Abbott Ford on Linden Street in Waltham. She later worked as a secretary for the Hewlett-Packard Company until her retirement.
Irene was the wife of the late John 'Dutch' Hallaran and a sister of the late Thomas, John, Margaret, James, Francis and William Hardiman. She leaves many nieces and nephews and their families.
Family and friends will honor and remember Irene's life by gathering to visit at 8 a.m. on Tuesday morning, August 14th, in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham before leaving in procession to Saint Mary's Church, 133 School Street, Waltham where her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 9 a.m. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Waltham.
