Waltham Miss Irene L. Millar of Waltham died Sunday, February 22, 2004 in the Newton Wellesley Hospital. She was 80. Born in Revere, Miss Millar had lived in Waltham for most of her life. She was a review examiner for the Division of Employment Security for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts from 1941 until 1986. She was a graduate of Waltham High School, Class of 1940 and attended Northeastern University where she studied economics and psychology. Miss Millar served in the U.S. Navy during World War Two. She was a member of the American Legion and the International Association of Personnel in Employment Security. Miss Millar was the daughter of the late Albert F. and Grace L. (Sparrow) Millar and the sister of the late Robert F. Millar. She is survived by her sister, Dorothy R. Henderson of The Villages, FL and Newburyport; her nieces and nephews, Steven Harris of Tampa FL, Kim Harris of Seminole FL, Lynne Gargas of Pepperell, Tracy Pezzella of Newburyport, Scott Harris of Chelmsford, Bobby Millar of Norwood, and Linda Millar of New Jersey; many grand nieces and nephews and her dear friend, Eleanor Conroy of Waltham. The Funeral will be held on Thursday at 9 am from the Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street, (Rte. 20), Waltham followed by a Funeral Mass in Saint Marys Church at 10 am. Burial will be in the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne, at 12:45 pm. Visiting hours Wednesday 2-4 and 7-9 pm.
