Irene M. Tierney

Mrs. Irene M. (Dupuis) Tierney of Waltham died Wednesday March 16, 2005 at Tufts- New England Medical Center, Boston. She was 91. Born in Lynn, a daughter of the late Charles and Mary (Calnan) Dupuis, she worked for many years for the City of Waltham Public Schools as a teacher’s aide. She was a member of the Waltham Senior Citizen’s Club as well as the Ladies Sodality at Saint Jude Church. She was the wife of the late Francis J. Tierney and sister of the late Raymond J. Dupuis and Mary F. Brosnan. She is survived by her daughter Marion E. Tierney of Waltham, her son David F. Tierney of Lowell, one brother Robert J. Dupuis of New Seabury, Dorothy R. Smith of Waltham, her grandchildren Stephen K. Tierney, Peter F. Tierney, Catherine C. Tierney, her great grandchildren Dylan D. Tierney and Brooke C. Tierney and many nieces and nephews. The Funeral will be held Saturday at 9:30 a.m. from The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte.20), Waltham followed by a Funeral Mass in Saint Jude Church, 147 Main Street Waltham at 10:30 a.m. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Waltham.
