Irene M. (Camuti) Uttaro

Waltham – Mrs. Irene M. (Camuti) Uttaro, of Waltham, died Sunday, March 29, 2015 in Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital, Boston. She was 87.

Irene was born in Waltham on March 5, 1928, a daughter of the late Charles and Sarah (Lembo) Camuti. She and her family lived in Watertown for more than twenty years before returning to Waltham in 1977. Until her retirement she worked for General Scanning of Watertown.

She leaves her husband of sixty-seven years, Dominick R. Uttaro, Jr.; her sons, Dominick R. Uttaro III and his wife, Linda, of Auburndale, Robert J. Uttaro and his wife, Kathy, of Newton Lower Falls, and William J. Uttaro and his wife, Cheryl, of Waltham; her sisters, Mary Duprez of Hudson and Rita Maldonis of Leominster; her grandchildren, Kelly, Kristy, Robert, Michael, Julie, Gina and Kerri Uttaro; her great-grandchildren, Emma and Leona Uttaro and many nieces and nephews.

Irene was also a sister of the late Joseph, James, Carmello, William and Anthony Camuti and Rose Vaglica, Janice Hough, and Frances Picone.

Family and friends will honor and remember Irene's life by gathering for calling hours in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham on Wednesday, April 1st, from 4 to 8 p.m. and again at 9 a.m. on Thursday morning before leaving in procession to Sacred Heart Church, 311 River Street, Waltham where a Liturgical Blessing will be held at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Waltham.
