Burlington – Mr. Ivan G. Vallerand, of Burlington, formerly of Waltham, died Wednesday, May 27, 2015 in Emerson Hospital, Concord surrounded by his loving family. He was 76.
Ivan was born in Montreal, Quebec, a son of the late George and Andrea (Tardiff) Vallerand. Raised and educated in Canada he immigrated to the States as a child and lived most of his life in Waltham before moving to Burlington in 2002. During the Vietnam War he served with the United States Army.
Ivan owned and operated Woburn Pest Control for many years and had previously owned and operated his own construction company. His hobbies included golf, hunting, traveling and occasional trips to try his luck at the dog track.
He leaves his wife, Linda C. (Pilon) Vallerand; his children, Tammy M. Gaipo and her husband, James, of Groton, Laura A. Spooner and her husband, Kenneth, of Pepperell, John I. Vallerand and his wife, Robin, of Burlington and Dan I. Vallerand and his wife, Mary, of Billerica; his grandchildren, Claire and Alicia Gaipo, Bryan and Michael Spooner and John, II, Paul, Nick, Anthony, Madison, Matthew, Brooke and Hailey Vallerand; his siblings, Michael Vallerand of Waltham, Monica Vallerand, Lillian Edmunds of Florida, Paullette Fettie of Tennessee and many nieces and nephews.
Ivan was also a brother of the late Guy and Robert Vallerand.
Family and friends will honor and remember Ivan's life by gathering for calling hours in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham on Monday, June 1st, from 4 to 8 p.m. and again at 9 a.m. on Tuesday morning before leaving in procession to Saint Mary's Church, 133 School Street, Waltham, where his Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in Mount Feake Cemetery, Waltham.
