Mr. James I. Donovan, of Waltham, died Saturday, April 15, 2006 in Newton-Wellesley Hospital. He was 76. Born in Watertown, Mr. Donovan was a graduate of Saint Patick's High School. He was employed as a sales coordinator for forty-two years with the 3M Company until his retirement. Mr. Donovan was very active in the Easter Seals Foundation and was a member of the Waltham Lions Club. He was a Korean War veteran who served with the United States Navy. Mr. Donovan was the son of the late Cornelius and Helen (Broderick Donovan and the brother of the late Margaret Donoghey. He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Doris M. (Comeau) Donovan; his sister, Mary Constance Hennessey, widow of James Hennessey, of Seymour Connecticut; his brother-in-law, Robert W. Comeau, Jr. of Waltham; his nieces and nephews, Thomas, Sharon, Cathy, Jimmy, Ellen, and John, and their many children. The Funeral will be held Thursday at 9 a.m. from The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham followed by a Funeral Mass in Sacred Heart Church, 311 River Street, Waltham at 10 am. Burial will be in Mount Feake Cemetery, Waltham. Visiting hours will be held from Wednesday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Memorials may be made to Easter Seals, 89 South Street, Boston, MA 02111.
