James J. Gaipo

December 10, 1919 — July 5, 2004

Waltham – Mr. James J. Gaipo of Waltham died Monday July 5, 2004 at Newton-Wellesley Hospital, Newton. He was 84. Born in Cambridge, Mr. Gaipo worked as a truck driver for many years for Union Local 379 before his retirement. He was a member of the John F. Sullivan Post 10334, and the Joseph F. Hill American Legion Post 156. Mr. Gaipo was a World War II veteran serving with the U.S. Marines. He is survived by his wife, Gilda D. (Branco), his children James A. Gaipo of Groton, Michael M. Gaipo of Waltham, and Tana M. Aquilera of California, his sisters Mary Cortina of New Hampshire and Hilda Corliss of Oklahoma, 11 grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be held at 4 p.m. Friday in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham. Burial will be private. Visiting hours are Friday from 2-4 p.m.
