Waltham – Mr. James L. LaFort, of Waltham, died Wednesday, May 27, 2015 at Medway Country Manor. He was 92.
Jim was born in Waltham on August 26, 1922 and was raised and educated in Watertown. He was one of thirteen children born to the late Michael and Justina (Gaudet) LaFort. During World War II he served in the Pacific with the United States Marine Corps.

When the grandchildren came along and after his retirement, he found a new full time job that suited him perfectly and one that he thoroughly enjoyed; spending as much time with them as he and Emma could during their growing up years.
In addition to his wife of sixty-eight years, Emma, he leaves his daughter, Janice McGovern and her husband, Richard, of Franklin; his grandchildren, James McGovern, Brian McGovern and his wife, Melissa, and Jason McGovern and many nieces and nephews.
