James F. Mannett

Lynn – Mr. James F. Mannett, of Lynn, died Wednesday September 9, 2015 at Salem Hospital. He was 62.

Jim was born on September 19, 1952 in Boston, a son of the late Simon Lawrence and Virginia (Gillis) Mannett. He was raised in Cambridge where he graduated from Cambridge Rindge and Latin School.

Before moving to Lynn he had lived for a number of years in Somerville, Everett and in Woburn. Jim served with the United States Army National Guard and was a roofer by trade. He belonged to the Roofers Union Local No. 33 and was an expert in slate roofing. He was proud to have worked on several downtown Boston buildings including historic Faneuil Hall.

He leaves his children, Ann-Marie Ambrose and her husband, Brian, of Medway, Matthew Mannett and Andrew Mannett, both of Milford; his grandchildren, Jacob and Lyla Ambrose; his longtime companion, Donna Casey of Lynn; his brother and sister, Lawrence Mannett of Stoneham and Jean Rogers of Northborough and many nieces and nephews.

Family and friends will honor and remember Jim's life by gathering to visit at 11 a.m. on Wednesday morning, September 16th in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham before leaving in procession to Saint Jude Church, 147 Main Street, Waltham where his Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 12 noon. Burial will be private.
