James Russo

Mr. James Russo of Salem, NH formerly of Waltham died Wednesday April 14, 2004 in the Salemhaven Nursing Home, Salem New Hampshire. He was 99. Born in Aragona, Sicily a son of the late Maria and Giuseppe Russo, he was the owner of Russo’s Variety Store on the corner of Calvary and Newton Street in Waltham for over forty years before his retirement. He was a member of the Wal Lex Bowling league and the North Waltham Seniors. He was the husband of the late Annie (Bourgeois) Russo, and brother of the late George (Gerlando) Russo, Alfonso Russo, Carolina Cannistraro, and Jennie (Vincenza) Tirone. He is survived by one brother Thomas Russo and his wife Betty of Waltham, and the beloved uncle of many nieces, nephews, grand nieces and nephews. The Funeral will be held Tuesday at 9 a.m. from The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte.20), Waltham followed by a Funeral Mass in Sacred Heart Church, 311 River Street, Waltham at 10 a.m. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Waltham. Visiting hours Monday 4-8 p.m.
