Mr. James R. Savage, of Tewksbury, formerly of Waltham, died unexpectedly on Tuesday, February 25, 2020. He was 73.
Jim was born in Waltham on August 3, 1946, a son of the late Woodrow and Fannie (Lewis) Savage. He graduated from Waltham Vocational High School and honorably served in the United States Navy. He worked in printing for the Raytheon Company for over 30 years. He also tended bar part-time at Michael J.'s on Prospect Street.
In his spare time Jim enjoyed playing cards, spending time at the beach and the occasional trip to the casino. He was also a member of The Sons of Italy in Waltham.
He leaves his wife Diane M. (Scholl) Savage; his children, Rebecca A. Porter (Rhon) of Sutton, Michael E. MacKenzie of Portsmouth, New Hampshire, Amy H. MacKenzie (Al Salvi) of Woburn, Timothy S. MacKenzie of Tewksbury, Michele D. MacKenzie of Woburn and Beth E. Alves of Haverhill; his siblings, Dorothy Gilligan of Maynard, Joan DiPalma of Franklin, Jeanette Pope (Robert Allen) of Waltham and Woody Savage (Laurie) of Port Orange, Florida; his grandchildren, Kieran and Kory Porter, Christopher MacKenzie, Kayleigh Salvi, Taylor Conley and Colby Alves and many nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will honor and remember Jim's life by gathering for calling hours in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham on Monday, March 2nd from 4 to 8 p.m. and again on Tuesday where his Funeral Service will be held at 11 a.m. Burial will follow in Mount Feake Cemetery, Waltham.
