Jane Z. Kirsch

Waltham- Mrs. Jane Z. Kirsch of Waltham died Sunday March 21, 2004 in her home. She was 67. Born in Southampton, New York, a daughter of the late Rev. Dr. John Emerson Zeiter and Elinor R. (Dilworth) Cain, Mrs. Kirsch lived in Brooklyn, New York before moving to Waltham in 1960. A graduate of Syracuse University, she was the vice-president of Louis J. Kirsch III Insurance Agency Inc. in Waltham. Long active in community affairs, Mrs. Kirsch was a member and past Chairwoman of the Board of Trustees of Waltham Hospital and later served on the CareGroup board. She was also a member and Past President of the Board of Directors of the Waltham Visiting Nurses Association, the Waltham Chamber of Commerce and the Waltham Hospital Auxiliary. She also served on the Board of Directors of the Greater Waltham Association of Retarded Citizens, the Waltham Boys & Girls Club, the Long Point Association in Vermont and the Lamplighters Singing Group in Waltham which she helped to establish. She was a lifelong active member of Immanuel United Methodist Church in Waltham where she held various offices. Mrs. Kirsch was also the recipient of the Robert and Thomas McNamara Middlesex Human Services Award and the Distinguished Service Award from the Waltham West Suburban Chamber of Commerce. She is survived by her husband Louis J. Kirsch III, one son John L. Kirsch and his wife Kelly, of Marlboro; one daughter Carol J. Robbins and her husband Stephen, of Waltham; her grandchildren, Ethan J., Ryan E., and David L. Kirsch, Stephen F. and Heather M. Robbins; one brother, Rev. J. Donald Zeiter of Robesonia, Pennsylvania; and many nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in Immanuel United Methodist Church, 545 Moody Street, Waltham. Burial will be in North Ferrisburg Cemetery, North Ferrisburg, Vermont at a later date. Visiting hours are Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte.20), Waltham.
