Ms. Jane "Angelica" (Bahros) McGonigle, formerly of Waltham passed away Saturday, April 23, 2016.
Jane was born in Somersworth, New Hampshire, on February 24, 1922, the second oldest child out of seven of the late Nicholas and Stella (Logothetis) Bahros.
In her growing up years she quit high school in order to help her family out and in later years went back to school and received her GED. She married and had two daughters, Maureen and Estelle.
Jane deeply loved her children and spending quality time with family and friends. She enjoyed taking trips, dining out at different restaurants, embroidery, cooking different recipes, watching and reading murder mysteries (Perry Mason being her all-time favorite), movies, planting flowers, and reading in general.
Until her retirement she worked for twenty-nine years running the office at Calvary Cemetery in Waltham.
Jane was the beloved mother of the late Maureen Visconti and mother-in-law of Maureen's late husband, Anthony Visconti.
She leaves her beloved daughter, Estelle; her brother Peter Behrikis, and many nieces and nephews.
Jane was also the beloved sister of the late Theresa "Terry" (Bahros) Pintabone, Anthony Bahros, John Behrikis, William Bahrikis and George Behrikis. She was the sister-in-law and good friend of Chris Behrikis, the best friend of the late Eleanor (Govoni) Govone, friend of Linda Govone, and the life-long friend of the late Kay Williams and the late Katherine McKenna.
Family and friends will honor and remember Jane's life by gathering for calling hours in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham on Monday, May 9th from 4 to 8 p.m. and again at 10 a.m. on Tuesday morning before leaving in procession to Sacred Heart Church, 311 River Street, Waltham where her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Burial will follow in Mount Feake Cemetery, Waltham.
