Janet M. (Howes) Nedza

Waltham – Mrs. Janet M. (Howes) Nedza, of Waltham, died Thursday, March 22, 2018 at Saint Elizabeth's Hospital in Brighton. She was 69.

Janet was born in Waltham on June 25, 1948, a daughter of the late Paul and Mary (Shutt) Howes, and had been a lifelong resident.

She was a 1967 graduate of Waltham High School and for a number of years worked as a finisher for the Jannson Company in Waltham, a maker of custom handmade cards.

Walt Disney World in Orlando became a frequent and favorite destination for Janet and her husband John, and many trips included family and friends. For her it truly was "the happiest place on earth." The pair also enjoyed many cruises and trips to Foxwoods.

In addition to her husband, John J. Nedza, she leaves her son, Michael J. Nedza and his fiancé, Kristina DeGregory, of Waltham; her brother and sister, Paul Howes and his wife, Joyce, of Indian River, South Carolina and Maureen Turmell of Waltham; her sisters and brothers-in-law, Cheryl Howes of Gardner, Judy and Jim Leach of Maynard and Paul and Connie Nedza of Waltham and nieces and nephews.

Janet was also a sister of the late Richard Howes.

Family and friends will honor and remember Janet's life by gathering for calling hours in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham on Monday, March 26th from 4 to 8 p.m. and again at 9 a.m. on Tuesday morning before leaving in procession to Saint Mary's Church, 133 School Street, Waltham where her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Burial will be in Mount Feake Cemetery, Waltham.
