Arlington - Sr. Janet M. McGilvray, R.C.E., of Arlington, died Sunday, October 29, 2006 at Lahey Clinic Medical Center in Burlington. She was 70. Born in Waltham, a daughter of the late Reece and Florence (LaRosee) McGilvray, she was a graduate of Waltham Senior High School and Boston College. Sr. Janet also completed graduate studies at Fairfield University in Connecticut. Sr. Janet taught for many years at Saint Pierre's School in Waltham and at Immaculata School in Hendersonville, North Carolina. She later became Director of the Religious Education Ministry at Saint Raphael Church in Medford and for the past sixteen years, until her retirement this past May, at Immaculate Conception Church in Everett. She was the sister of the late Reece McGilvray and Martha Tambacio. She leaves two sisters, Florence Lash of Burlington and Sylva Langevin of Virginia; five brothers, Ronnie McGilvray of Attleboro, Bobby McGilvray of Marlboro, Tommy McGilvray of Florida, Raymond McGilvray of Rochester, New Hampshire and Kenneth McGilvray of Cape Cod; and many nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews. The Funeral will be held Friday at 9 a.m. from The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte.20), Waltham, followed by a Funeral Mass in Saint Raphaels Church, 512 High Street, Medford at 10 a.m. Burial will be in Saint Patricks Cemetery, Watertown.
