Ashburnham Mrs. Janice C. (Norton) Keefe, of Ashburnham, formerly of Waltham, died Sunday, March 7, 2010 at Legend Center for Rehabilitation in Gardner. She was 71. Janice was born in Waltham on October 15, 1938, a daughter of the late Thomas H. and Alice M. (Gillis) Norton and was a graduate of Waltham High School. She lived in Gardner for six years before moving to Ashburnham seven years ago. Before her retirement Janice worked as an administrative aide at Newton North High School. She spent the better part of her life raising her five children and will be remembered by them for having a special talent for gardening, sewing and cooking. She leaves her children, Gwendolyn Foster of Ashburnham, Sean Keefe of China, Maine, Patrick Keefe of Acton, Alicia Parker of Portola Valley, California and Eric Keefe of Newton; two brothers, William Norton of Waltham and John Norton of Florida; her sister, Mary Walsh of Sudbury; 12 grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her twin brother, James Norton and her brother, Thomas Norton. Family and friends will honor and remember Janice's life by gathering to visit in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham on Wednesday morning from 10 to 11 a.m. before leaving in procession to Our Lady Comforter of the Afflicted Church, 880 Trapelo Road, Waltham where her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:30 a.m. Burial will be private.
