Waltham – Mrs. Janice L. (Isaacson) Quagliozzi, of Waltham, died at home on Wednesday, October 2nd, 2013 surrounded by her family. She was 79.
Janice was born in Waltham on March 26, 1934, a daughter of the late Conrad and Evelyn (Chandler) Isaacson. A lifelong Waltham resident, she married her high school sweetheart, Joseph W. Quagliozzi.
She took very good care of her husband, her children and her household. She was meticulous and everything was always to be in perfect order. She and her husband worked extremely hard to support their family and owned and operated Spring Street Laundry in Waltham for over fifty years. Working as hard as they did, they looked forward to an occasional night on the town for dinner. Spending time with her family was precious and they loved getting away, when able, to Janice's father's cottage on Bare Hill Pond in Harvard. She was very active in politics and was involved in both the League of Women's Voters and the Democratic Committee. She adored her grandchildren and always made sure to videotape episodes of Sesame Street, Christmas specials and other programs that were special to them.
Besides her husband, Joseph, she is survived by her children, Karen Quinn and her husband, Mike, of Harvard and Steven Quagliozzi and his wife, Kristen, of Plainville; her grandchildren, Matthew, Lily and Tess Quagliozzi, Ryan Quirk, Emily Corcoran and Julia Mancini and her great-grandchildren, Finn, Chloe and Max.
Family and friends will honor and remember Janice's life by gathering for calling hours in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham on Sunday October 6th, from 4 to 7 p.m. and again on Monday at 10 a.m. when her funeral service will be held. Burial will follow in Mount Feake Cemetery, Waltham.
Memorial donations may be made to the MSPCA-Angell, 350 South Huntington Avenue, Boston, MA 02130.
