Waltham – Miss Janice Towne, of Waltham, died on Tuesday, July 8, 2014 in Waltham Crossings Senior Living Community. She was 93.
Janice was born in Waltham on July 16, 1920, a daughter of the late Albert N. and Marion (Rowe) Towne. She was a lifelong resident of Waltham and until her retirement worked as a secretary at Boston Safe & Trust Company.
Growing up Janice and her family loved to spend time at their cottage in Maine where they could often be found at Pompham Beach. In her spare time she enjoyed sewing, knitting and cooking. She had an interest in cars and could tell you the make and model by the headlights at night.
She was the sister of the late Margaret MacLeod and sister-in-law of the late David Earl MacLeod. She is survived by her nieces and nephew, Amy MacLeod, Diana Walter and Glenn A. MacLeod and great-nieces and nephew, Rachel, Ian and Mary M. Alexander.
The family would like to extend their deepest appreciation to all the devoted staff at Waltham Crossings where Janice made her home over the last few years.
Family and friends are invited to attend her graveside services at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, July 15th in Mt. Feake Cemetery, 203 Prospect St., Waltham.
