Needham Heights - Mr. Jasper Bogosian of Needham Heights, died Sunday, August 10, 2008 surrounded by his family at Wingate of Needham. He was 81. Born in Newton, a son of the late Hagop and Choian (Shrakan) Bogosian, Jasper had lived in Needham Heights for seventy years. Until his retirement he had worked for thirty-seven years as an electrician for General Motors. Jasper graduated from Newton High School, Newton Trade School and Franklin Institute as an electrician. He was a World War II veteran serving with the United States Navy 'Sea Bee's', stationed in Okinawa. He lived his life by the Sea Bee's motto "The difficult we do immediately, the impossible takes a little longer. Jasper loved his country and he was a member of American Legion Post #440 in Newton. He also enjoyed playing cards and was an avid sports fan. He was a longtime member of the Carter Memorial United Methodist Church in Needham. He leaves his devoted wife of sixty years to whom he loved until the day he died, Peggy "Margaret" (Chatalian) Bogosian; two sons, Jasper Bogosian, Jr., and his wife, Mary Elizabeth, of Needham, and Wane Mark Bogosian; his grandchildren, Allison Mary Bogosian, Esq. and Captain Amy Rachel Bogosian who served four years with the U.S. Army; one sister, Gladys Shyne, formerly of Needham and many nieces and nephews. Visiting hours are on Wednesday from 4-8 p.m. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday at 10 a.m. in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte.20), Waltham. Burial will be in Needham Cemetery.
