Waltham – Jean M. (Fagan) Freedman died Wednesday, April 12, 2023 in Milford Regional Medical Center after a short illness. She was 74.
Jean was born in Waltham in on August 27, 1948 a daughter of the late William F. ‘Frank’ and Ruth M. (Bates) Fagan. She attended Saint Joseph’s Grammar School and graduated from Saint Mary’s High School with the class of 1966. Jean was the first member of her family to graduate from college as a member of the class of 1970 from Framingham State College.
After dedicating over forty years as a client services specialist to the CCS Companies of Norwood, Jean retired last year.
A longtime and faithful member of Saint Charles Borromeo Parish she served as a Eucharistic Minister for many years. A member of the Waltham Garden Club she enjoyed volunteering and the friendships and always looked forward to the annual sheep shearing event. Jean loved to travel and visited numerous national parks and forests.
Jean was predeceased by her husband, David S. Freedman on June 26, 2021.
She leaves her son, Kenneth S. Freedman and his wife, Michelle; her youngest grandson, Jaxson of Northborough; her grandsons, Brian Freedman, Cody Denning and their parents, Karen and George Denning of Florida; her siblings, James F. Fagan of Burlington and Janet M. Frye and her husband, Steven of Blackstone; her nieces, Ellen Samiagio and Laura Frye and her great-niece, Vera.
Family and friends will honor and remember Jean’s life by gathering to visit at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, April 19th in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham where her funeral service will be held at 11 a.m.. Burial will follow in Holyhood Cemetery, Brookline.
