Jean Joseph LeBlanc

July 16, 1949 — September 24, 2023

Waltham

Jean Joseph LeBlanc, of Waltham, passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 24, 2023, at home surrounded by his loving family.

Born on July 16, 1949, in Rogersville, New Brunswick, Canada, Jean was one of nine children of the late Andre and Eva (Leblanc) LeBlanc. He was raised in Rogersville.  In 1975, he married his beloved wife Ginette in Rogersville at the Saint-François-de-Sales Church, and shortly thereafter the pair made their home in Waltham, where they started their family.

A dedicated and hardworking individual with an entrepreneurial spirit, Jean consistently went the extra mile to provide for his Family. Initially working as a mason and bricklayer upon arriving in Waltham, he later joined Newton Auto Radiator before seizing the opportunity to establish his own business, Suburban Radiator, in 1984. Since then, he has remained an entrepreneur. After moving on from the radiator business Jean followed his love of driving, delivering heavy equipment for Colvin’s of Waltham, and eventually becoming a contractor for the US Postal Service, where Jean managed multiple employees while operating a fleet of trucks. His duties took him across every state in the contiguous United States, delivering various cargo from mail to recreational vehicles.

Although he approached work with a serious demeanor, Jean had a great sense of humor and an infectious laugh. Known for his ability to strike up conversations with strangers, he had an appreciation for old school country music, old western TV shows, and NASCAR; traveling to attend the Daytona 500, twice. One of his accomplishments that filled him with pride was rebuilding his 1974 CJ5 Jeep from the ground up.

Some of the family’s happiest memories were their many trips back home to Rogersville, surrounded by family and nature. More than anything, Jean cherished the time he spent with his wife, children, and grandchildren whom he adored.

In addition to his wife of forty-eight years, Ginette (Robichaud) LeBlanc; he leaves his children, Renee Deneen (Tom) of Marlborough and Andy LeBlanc (Katie) of Framingham; his grandchildren, Sean, Meghan and Kaelyn Deneen, and Stella and Teddy LeBlanc; his siblings, Francis LeBlanc (Rachel), Gilles LeBlanc (Mariette), Daniel LeBlanc (Raymonde), Michel LeBlanc (Noella), Murielle Caissie and Andrea Fraser (Grayling); his brothers-in-law, Ralph Doiron and Vince Pineau along with many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents the late Andre and Eva LeBlanc, Jean was predeceased by his sisters, Corinne Pineau and Rejeanne Doiron, and his brother-in-law, Francois Caissie.

Family and friends will honor and remember Jean’s life by gathering for calling hours at The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street, (Rte. 20) Waltham on Tuesday, October 3rd from 4 to 7 p.m. and again at 9 a.m. on Wednesday morning before leaving in procession to Saint Mary's Church, 133 School Street, Waltham, where his Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Burial will be private.
