Waltham – Mrs. Jeanne C. (Kimball) France, of Waltham, died on Saturday, October 26, 2013 in Meadow Green Nursing Home, Waltham. She was 67.
Jeanne was born on April 17, 1946 a daughter of the late George H. and Jeannette M. (Blanchette) Kimball Sr. A lifelong Waltham resident she was a 1967 graduate of LaSalle Junior College and earned her Associate's degree in nursing from Newton Junior College. In 1988 she earned her Bachelor of Science degree from St. Joseph's College in Maine.
She worked as a registered nurse at McLean Hospital in Belmont for more than 20 years and before that at the former Middlesex County Hospital in Waltham.
Jeanne leaves her son, George E. 'Ed' France and his wife, Susan, of Waltham; her grandchildren, Luke, John and Leah France; her brother, George H. Kimball, Jr. and his wife, Joyce, of Waltham; her longtime companion, Brad Bigham of Concord and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents she was predeceased by her brother Robert P. Kimball.
Family and friends will honor and remember Jeanne's life by gathering for calling hours in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham on Wednesday, October 30th from 4 to 8 p.m. and again at 9 a.m. on Thursday morning before leaving in procession to Our Lady Comforter of the Afflicted Church, 880 Trapelo Road, Waltham where her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in Mount Feake Cemetery, Waltham.
