Mrs. Jeanne M. (Aucoin) Haché, of Waltham, died Wednesday, December 29, 2010 in Newton-Wellesley Hospital. She was 82.
Jeanne was born September 5, 1928 in Waltham a daughter of the late Thomas V. and Regina (Vienneau) Aucoin and was a life-long Waltham resident. She was a graduate of St. Mary’s High School, class of 1946. She was a member of the ‘Smoothie’s’, a group of high school friends who still remain very close and would meet monthly and in later years annually. She treasured her friendships with these life-long classmates and friends.
On November 24, 1949 she married Leonard Haché in the former Saint Joseph’s Church. Together they were very active in the parish and were members of the French Club Couples Club where they enjoyed dancing and many activities in the parish. Jeanne was very proud and loyal to her French heritage.
Jeanne worked as a bus driver for many years for the Town of Lexington Public School System before retiring in 1993.
She is remembered as a very social person and long active in her community. She served with the Meals on Wheels program through the Waltham Senior Center and was a volunteer shopper at The Mill Apartment’s in Waltham. An avid golfer she also had a keen interest in sports. She was an extremely proud and much loved ‘Nana’ to her two granddaughters, Brianna and Marlena whom she adored.
Her husband, Leonard Haché died on September 11, 1998. In addition to her parents she is predeceased by her siblings, Evelyn Belliveau, Helen Williamson, Corrine Beton, Irene Murphy, Thomas P. Aucoin, Edmond F. Aucoin, Joseph B. Aucoin, Brother Bernadine Aucoin F.S.C and Lorraine N. Aucoin.
She leaves two sons, Thomas P. Haché of Waltham and James L. Haché of Sandwich; her sisters, M. Therese Aucoin of Waltham and Marie P. O’Brien of Waltham and Florida; two granddaughters, Brianna and Marlena Haché; many nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will honor and remember Jeanne’s life by gathering for calling hours in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte.20), Waltham on Sunday, January 2nd from 2 to 5 p.m. and again at 9 a.m. on Monday morning before leaving in procession to Sacred Heart Church, 311 River Street, Waltham where her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Burial will be private.
