Jeannette M. Burns

Lynn – Mrs. Jeannette M. (Leger) Burns, of Lynn, formerly of Waltham, died Monday, October 29, 2012 in the Jesmond Nursing Home in Nahant. She was 81.

Jeannette was born in Brighton on March 23, 1931, a daughter of the late Edgar and Mary (Bourgeois) Leger. She had been a lifelong resident of Waltham before moving to Lynn in 2006.

The wife of the late Paul E. Burns and mother of the late Bruce E. Burns she leaves her daughter, Brenda J. Blanchard and her husband, James, of Lynn; her brother, Gerard Legere of Chelmsford; her sisters, Helen Alagna and her husband, John, of Waltham and Linda Therault of Peabody and many nieces and nephews.

Jeannette was also a sister of the late Norma Riggs and sister-in-law of the late Frank Therault and Janet Legere.

Family and friends will honor and remember Jeannette's life by gathering for calling hours in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham on Sunday, November 4th, from 3 to 7 p.m. and again at 8 a.m. on Monday morning before leaving in procession to the Blessed Sacrament Chapel of Saint Charles Borromeo Church, 51 Hall Street, Waltham where her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 9 a.m. Burial will follow in Mt. Feake Cemetery, Waltham.
